Does it blow if the AC is on? If not, then yes I would start with the blower motor. There is a DIY writeup on here and it is apparently pretty easy to do.

Yeah that sounds like the motor. My 05 recently started making a little extra noise sometimes when it is spinning on high, so it is probably going also. And that is where it is located, under the passenger dash area.
