i think you mean oil temp gauge, confirm ?
cause as far as i know there is no oil pressure gauge on instrument cluster unless you have done some mods.
what does you battery voltage show? when did you replaced the battery? if you have access to VAG COM scan it first yourself before going to dealer,
any other symptoms to say?

 

Look more closely . . . that oil gauge is for temperature!

I assume you have checked the fuel gauge?!

 

Yep all gauges are good, unfortunately. I Don't have access to a vag-com so it's off to the stealer I go...

Hey so not much to report. Vag-com plugged in came up with no codes and it hasn't happned again. Just taken her on a 14 hour trip from MS to VA and no issues at all. VW guys said all they could do was a 'wobble test' which basically means jacking the engine up half way off mounts and jiggling it whilst running to see if there's any chance they can reproduce the ailment somehow, I.e. Lose wire grounding etc. so...I guess I'll just have to wait and see! I'm finding a lot of little annoying issues with her though due to last owners treating the car like ****...got some work to do here!
