Hey all

So the T-Reg was in the body shop off and on for about a month due to being hit on the passenger side. Stupid body shop just couldn't get it right. But that's another story for another time. Problem having since we got it back is the front passenger door doesn't always open from the outside. It has the smart key package, so we don't ever use the remote to unlock the doors. But when this happens, I have tried unsuccessfully using the remote to unlock. I will also use the button on the inside of the driver's door and unlock all the doors, but it will still not open from the outside. The only way to get it open is to open it from the inside. Weird thing is that it is intermittent. It usually only happens first thing in the morning, but after that it will work for the rest of the day.....usually. I know I should take it back to the body shop but they have had our car for too long already and I don't want them touching it again if they don't have to. Thinking about seeing if the dealership will do it under warranty. Any thoughts? Oh and BTW the dealership did remove the door during repairs.

Thanks in advance,
Steve

I have 2 questions? 1. Why did the dealer remove the door? and 2. Why didn't they put it back on?

If the damage from the accident hurt the system, the warranty won't deal with it I'm pretty sure. Most of the warrantties say some wording that says "except for accident damage".

Good luck, I hope you get some help on this. JP

Body shop had the door off for painting or something. I don't think it's from the accident because the first three times they gave it back to us, the door still worked. It was put back on though by the body shop, they didn't leave it off. Just the final time they gave it back to us is when the issue started. Correction on first post-it wasn't the dealership that removed the door it was the body shop. Sorry for the confusion.
