Well done!

When I had to install a front plate holder on both my T2 and my T3, I used a dab of clear silicone in each of the screw holes to adhere the frame to the bumper cover. No holes, and they have never fallen off even with pressure washing in the winter.

Even the tape is kind of too permanent for me. It can be difficult to get off paint after it's baked on for a while.

Why’d you put the plate on? Front plates are thumbs down.
To avoid a $200 ticket. It's mandatory here in my province. But not where I bought my Tregs.

When I brought my T2 from Dubai I took it to the DMV to register it and get license plates. Over here, they install the plates right there at the DMV. The car already had a front plate holder so no problem there, but when it came to the rear plate, the original mounting holes did not line u with the new plates, so the installer got out his electric drill and was about to punch two holes into my trunk!!!!:surprise:
Of course I jumped at him and suggested installing an adjustable holder instead. Hah, the noive of that character!

If I move to another province, or sell the vehicle to another province, the plate and frame can come off. Simple as that. For now, it stays on with no permanent holes in the bumper cover.

I’ve never had a front plate in over 20 cars. BC requires 2 plates, only gotten a ticket once. :) it’s $85 here.

You have been lucky then. In Manitoba the police scan all car plates with cameras to look for stolen cars or whatever. If you don't have a front plate, they will pull you over. I got a $170 ticket, but didn't have to pay as my plate holder was on order still, and I was able to prove that.

It’s funny the different laws for different parts of the world. All states of Australia require front & rear plates (except on motorcycles, caravans, trailers, etc) so all vehicles sold here including Tregs have built in number plate holders.
Unfortunately, they are made to hold European plates as well so are larger than the number plates issued here.
