Hi all,
I see plenty of threads regarding older Touareg models, but has anyone had any issues with the current variant?
I have a 2019 CR7 3.0TDi 231hp UK spec, and you cannot source the bearing parts. I'm being told it is a complete gearbox replacement at a cost of £9k!
Any help/guidance appreciated.

There is definitely a front diff, as it is a newer model I guess there aren't many broken spares available but I've been told from numerous sources VW have deliberately withdrawn the ability to purchase a replacement diff or the bearing kit (as you can for older models) as they want to sell complete gearboxes at £9k each!

What am I looking at? Is this a consolidated gearbox and front diff? I've had it checked (something checked) and I have metal shards in the diff oil?

You're looking at what's under your vehicle, since you've clearly never been under it.
You don't have a "traditional" separate front diff. What you have is integrated into the tranny.
I'm sure there are bearing in there, but I'd have to get the service manuals for your vehicle to go through them to see what it would take to gut that diff to access them.
