Hello all, so one month a ago I bought a 2008 treg with 38,500 miles on it.it would be replacing my 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer es (the poser evo look alike) and man I love this thing. I first drove a TDI Touareg back in 2008 with my mom, she was in the market but I fell in love with it then but there was no way I could afford a car payment like that lol.
Luck would have it though, after spending a year away from home, the local VW dealer here at home (Modesto) had a lease returned 2008 VR6. I picked it up for 24,500 out the door.
Thus far I have taken her out to few trails out to the lake and what not and it’s very impressive in the dirt. She really shows up all the Ford and Chevy fan boys. Especially when you are aiming it at the sky in 4 low, and it just climbs like a mountain goat.
More importantly I had the opportunity to flog the Touareg down a mile and half closed stretch of road and I was incredibly impressed. I got a gps top speed of 129 mph, but it was so rock stable, and the cabin noise was very low for being at those speeds. The brakes are amazing for being as heavy as it is. The build quality is top notch in my book and put's my old mitsu to shame .
I am looking forward to my time with the Touareg it’s an impressive suv and it's got a great appearance to it.
