Hi all.
I have a touareg 04, 220K km, 4,2 v8.

I have the following problems:

Battery drainage.
I think is linked to the kessy, And the diagnostics says there's a failure with the passenger door.
I've read, that the door handle can be disabled by disconnecting the connector for the door handle behind the door panel.
Could someone confirm this?
- Occasionally i can hear clicking noices underneath the panel, and i assume this is the kessy-module?

Furthermore, i have often (occasionally) Brake fault stop engine. When i turn the the ignition on and start the car. When i shut the engine down and start again the fail reading in MFD disappeared.
I've got fail readings on the ABS, witch i can read possible is the differential rear stepper motor. Im thinking about removing fuse 23 in the left side, witch i've read shuld be the one powering the rear stepper motor? Im never off-road and will not need this function.

FURTHERMORE i've read, a lot of people have brake failure issues because of bad soldering/water in the drivers footwell (left side). But i havnt been able to find information. Do you just cut the carpet between the drivers seat and the B-post, lift up and re-solder the wiring?

The breakes turned into complete sh**, after the shop changed discs and pads, very squeaky and bad, the parts are ok, and the brake fluid was changed and air was removed. Has someone experienced simultaneously situations?

Best regards, and thanks all for this nice forum.

Have you checked for the very common wiring harness problem?

When you have multiple errors between multiple modules in a T1 (2004-2007 model), check the wiring harness for a defective factory splice in a brown wire near the drivers door.

Hey.
Thanks a lot, and sorry about the late reply.
I've read about this wire, and i tried to reach it the other day. Couldnt get the plastic peace off at the outer footwell (The part with the 'hood-pop-handle')
Any comments on that?

Ive read you disconnected the battery. Is it possible to do it without? - Im mostly concerned about the black thick wires you resoldered.
I replaced the battery three month ago, sure thing it was a b**** to get the heavy seat out. My car is build as a van without rear seats (tax saving solution in my silly country) so i cant just put the front seat back.

Best regards and thank you for your reply

Quite often fault lights that appear when first starting the car, but disappear after the car has run, are due to a dying battery. The Touareg is very sensitive to a duff battery.

Whoch manufacturers did you use for your new brake rotors and pads? They should not be squealing. Have you been back to the brake shop?

The battery was replaced a couple of month ago. I was having constant airbag-failure, and that disappered afterwards.
The new battery is a 88 ah, but i think im having a large discharge. When i come down to the car at mornings its about 11,5 volts, starts fine though, and reach immediately (almost) 14 v (13,6-8 v i think)

I tried to clean the brake system for air, by a guide from this side. Im running cayenne rims 20" so i could do this from the ground without pulling the car up (Both valves in the front)
- Fixed the squealing, still ****ty grip.
- When i hold a constant pressure on the brake pedal with the engine idling, i can (with some kind of resistence though) press the pedal all the way down, and it sounds like som pump starts for a few seconds afterwards. Could this be a sign of a open brake circuit?

Best regards and thank you for your reply

Hi.
Where did you unconnect it?

I actually like the keyless entry (trunk and drivers door, the others i dont need.)
But its really ****ty and doesnt work very well (bad signal for the trunk, i have to stand up against the door to get it working) The rear doors are also pulling tricks on me, and its like it unlocks the door, but the door is actually still locked. The small lock buttoms doesnt work neather (except drivers door)

The key fob is also annoying, i have to point the fob against my chin to open, the signal is very weak (tried to change battery in the fob, no succes) the other key is the same.'
Often i have to push twice to unlock all doors, even though i set it to unlock all doors on mfd.

I suspect the kessy box (god knows where its placed) to have failures. Is it possible to plug and play with another, or is it something that needs special programming?

Best regards and thank you for your reply

Good day, the battery of my Touareg 2003 died and after replacing the battery, each time I insert the key and try to crank, the message " Immobilizer activated" comes on and it dies down on a matter of seconds. What could be the problem. The steering wheel turns normally and the break pedal goes soft for that short moment. More still there's sufficient fuel flow.
