Hello there. I have a question guys....
And it goes like this: has anybody heared or done an ECU swap froma porsche into a touareg ?
Like literally swap. No adjustments needed.
Im talking about the 2005 bmv engine code 3.2 vr6 241 hp ( touareg ) with the 3.2 257 HP on the cayenne.
Is it possible ?
I wanted to tune my reg for better driving and a bit more power.
A dyno test and a tune could get up to a grand so i thought why not make a factory upgrade ?
Thank you in advance

Patience is abound, it just makes it a more complex process, since you will need to recode all gear to see the new ECU correctly. It is not a trivial process. Flashing the maps is much easier.

Have you looked into HPTuners? You may be able to pull engine and transmission maps and do 1:1 change without touching hardware at all

Now you have put a smile on my face and gave me some study material.
Thank you for the info. Will post updates if i go through with this or any other method

as far as I can read, HPTuner should be able to read and flash both systems. You can confirm with their support. In that case, you will not only be able to map from one car to another, but also tweak settings as needed, to your heart content. I am in the process of doing something similar, taking maps from Cayenne and looking into doing some tweaking on my Q5. There is a learning curve, for sure, but it is cheaper, and you can always go back to stock if you mess up.

Ain’t no thing as just straight swapping. You’ll have to remove or recode the immobilizer, record your current ECU coding, hope the Porsche ecu will accept your old coding, etc.

Eh, it’s all good as we all know you know your $*#t, you just don’t seem to know it stinks.

Now please offer the OP more than commentary to prove me wrong, lol. At least tell him he needs to buy a Cayenne ECU along with the Cayenne it belongs in to really get the desired HP bump. 😄
