Hi
I have a 2014 3.0 Tdi with about 160 000 km / 100 000 miles on the clock
I moved down to the coast a while back and was doing very short drives, and my Dpf filter kept on getting blocked and the car was going into limp mode. I took it to the VW dealership and the advised me they needed to do a clean, which they did. A few weeks later it happened again and I took it to VW where they cleaned it again. They then told me that if it happened again I would need to replace the filter which would cost about USD4500. A few weeks later it happened again and the car would not go out of idle mode, and I didn't have tha money to do the replacement so I decided to get it removed at a time tuning shop. The tuning shop said they could also do an Ecu remap at the same time that would improve the power and fuel efficiency, which I decided to do.
The car was a lot more powerful, probably too powerful as it was a more jerky driving experience, but after a few weeks later I started to notice a lot of black smoke coming out the back of the car. I took it back to the tuning shop and they said that we could restore the stock settings and see what happens, but even after doing that there was a ton of smoke coming out (so much that it would obscure my rear view window). The car also started to misfire so that seemed to also be an issue, and it progressively got worse over a few months. I did some reading and found out that a lot of Touareg have injector issues, and thought this might be the case.
II took it back to the tuning company and they tested the injectors and told me they were "way out of spec" and advised I replace them to stop the smoke coming out. So I borrowed USD3200 to do it and got all 6 injectors replaced. I got the car back today and there is much less smoke coming out the back, but still quite a lot (I followed the Touareg in another car and could see that the smoke was coming out and almost reaching the back windows on normal pull offs). The guy at the tuning company said that it would take about 100kms for the engine to adapt to the injectors l, but this sounded suspect to me. Add to this that the engine felt a bit sluggish since I picked it up and all in all I am feeling quite dejected.
He had sent me the VCDS report on the old injectors being out of spec, but I have been looking at it this evening and reading up on it and it doesn't seem to be very out of spec from what I have read. I have attached here for you to see as well. Also the warning codes on the VCDS report also seem to be non injector related? I am starting to feel like I have been scammed by these guys
