Complete loss of Power to Ignition.

Hi Guys,
My touareg suddenly lost all power to the ignition circuit. 2008 T2, 3.6 FSI.

I tried to jumpstart with surge shielded cables with no change at all.
AA technician tried this aswell, without success.
In the end i chose to disconnect the battery (under LHS seat) and reconnect. The car reset at this point and was ok.

What's the cause of this??

Do you have push button start or just keyed start?

The OP stated that the push button start did not work, either.

Without a VCDS scan, it's hard to say.... :- /

Wanted to mention this just happened to my 2008 r50 and the battery disconnect trick worked first time. Thanks above posters for the help

hi i have a touareg it only light speedo and time whe i inset the key but wornt start the battery if fine
