HI I have lots of space at the back of the Treg when the trailer is attached - the OEM coding disables the boot door from being electrically opened. I find it a right PIA... has anyone recoded the OEM setup to allow electrical opening of the boot

Interestingly mine is setup to open with the trailer connected. that’s how it was delivered to me after the tow bar was fitted.
To be clear if I operate the handle on the hatch it opens up fully.
I rarely ever use the remote key fob or internal switch in the drivers door for the hatch so I don’t know if it still works via those options when the trailer is attached
[edit]. And I do not have “easy open” kick to open option.

Yes, it can be coded to have it either way, I changed mine to what you need, it's a simple change in the trailer module.
I can look up the notes if you have trouble finding it in vcds
