Clicking Sound in brakes

I am experiencing a clicking sound in the front after I apply my foot on the brake. This click happens after you drive forward after backing up and you touch the brake pedal. It happens as well if you drive in reverse after driving forward. When I come home from work and I am backing my car down my driveway I hear the click when I touch the brakes.

Spring of 2018 I put on new rotors and pads. The pads I put on were the Akebono brand pads with their pins, clips and sensors. No sure if this sound is related to the growl I get at low speeds when turning right. I hear it mostly when I take a hard right out of my driveway. It sounds like a wheel bearing growl to me. I am wondering if the clicking sound and growling sound are related. Bad wheel bearing??

I have this issue on my Jetta. The clicking when I apply brakes - is the pads moving in the caliper. just slight but they click. Other than the annoyance - everything stops great.

I have a 2004 Touareg 3.2 awd I just replaced the front brakes a month or so ago and yesterday I changed the rear because I am experiencing a clicking sound when applying the brakes. Sounds like when I brake it comes from the middle of the vehicle. Tore back apart cleaned everything and reinstalled and installed new rear brakes and sensors. Any idea what’s making the clicking while braking?

That's odd to have the brakes give you a clicking sound from the middle of the vehicle.
Does it make the noise only when moving or even when applying the brakes at a standstill?

It's been bothering me since I posted the above. I'm just not totally sure your center support is it only because you didn't mention a click when accelerating.
I still think it's worth an inspection though as it doesn't cost anything but time.
I think the biggest thing is to try and determine whether it is the front, back, or center that the click is coming from. Not to mention whether it at the bottom of the vehicle or inside.

It sounds like it is definitely coming from the outside of the vehicle. I’ll check the support bracket and then reinspect the front break pads

I am experiencing a clicking/clanking sound while driving in about fifth gear it starts to get more constant and more noticeable. Was doing the same sound when applying the brakes lubed brake pin and got quieter. Could this be a cv axle, carrier barrier didn’t have hardly any play. Both rear cv axle move in and out by hand when jacked up. Any ideas what the issue is?

If you have the vehicle jacked up, axles/suspension unloaded, there would be a little bit of play but excessive movement is not normal. Best to check movement when the vehicle is down and see if you get a lot of movement in/out and up/down.
Are any of the boots on the joints torn?

You don't pad slap Touaregs.

You measure the rotors' / discs' thickness to see if they are still in service or need replacing.

There is only 1mm wear allowed on each side of each rotor.

It is highly unlikely you can skim a Touareg rotor without taking it undersize.

If your rotors are undersized and need replacing you will now need new pads as well.
