Anyone know if these chips are decent? Or any other chips that are decent? Any issues with installing a chip etc? I saw on Ebay a +150HP +30mpg chip, and was like hmm +30mpg?? sounds a tad much. I have the 2004 V6 if that helps!

Save your money and certainly don't get the ones off Ebay. You are not going to get much out of your V6 unless you plan to dump some money into it. Thing is there is next to nothing available for it for performance mods.

Jackal....

-Supercharger kits aren't even capable of offering those type of HP gains for your V6, even at moderate boost levels.

-Even Touareg TDI models are barely capable of those fuel mileage figures...

How can you even dare to consider these chips from ebay advertising those claims?

Chipping a turbo diesel can be fun and add some power, but it comes at a price just like anything else. I race TDI cars and have for 6 years. My Jetta made 225 HP and 399ft tq, and still got 40+mpg cruising. I spent a lot of money to get that and I constantly working on it.

A gas car, no turbo, you can get a few HP and thats really it. You might move some power around, but no way to get big gains on a normally aspirated engine. It is already tuned for max economy and power from the factory.

For example, a Honda civic engine produces the same power as a Ferrari V12 per cylinder. No secrets or science there. Limited by technology.

Never buy chips off ebay. Go to a reputable tuner.

^^^^^^Just wanted to add to the above posting, that OEM tuning also takes into account fuel quality issues within the given markets around the world, so there is in fact a baseline, and a small window to therefore be able to expand on that. Basically, by chipping a normally aspirated engine, you are essentially kissing anything below 91 AKI grade fuel goodbye for good with no ifs or buts.
