Centre console cup holder

Hi,

The cup holder catch in the centre console seems to be broken as the cup holder will not hold on the catch which means that when it is closed it stops it from being opened again easily.. I've been told that the only way to sort it out without buying a new console is to snap the cup holder off.. for the sake of a little plastic catch this seems extreme.. anyone have any suggestions?

Have you looked at this on the screen with the parts guy in your local VW dealer?

I wouldn't have suggested it if not! I'm often surprised what small bits you can actually get when you think you may have to buy a complete unit. Sometimes you do, but often you don't.

Thanks for the diagrams.. I'll have a look tomorrow to see whether the piece with the cup holder can just be taken out and the compartment used without it. I'm still going to call in to the local dealer though, in case the catch can be replaced..
