I'm up in Jax. I'd be happy to come down to Orlando and talk Touareg shop on a Sat (in my fuel sipping TDI :D), if anyone wanted to get together. I'm a DIY guy, & quickly learning as much as I can about my new-to-me T-reg.

I live in downtown Orlando. I use David Maus South for service. Can anyone recommend a reputable independant shop for future service? I just completed my 30k service, and from the pamphlet they gave me, the 40k service will be $600! I'm sure an independant can do what needs to be done for a fraction of the stealership charge.

I'm not sure what the situation would be for the V6 TDI. I know that the V10 is somewhat rare, so it can be harder to find an independent mechanic for some "engine related" jobs.

In general, I've found that some routine services will be cheaper with an independent mechanic, but some will not. Remember to figure labor and cost of parts/supplies for any given job. Most of my dealership service was done at Aristocrat in Sanford, but I had my most recent oil change done at Maus on Lee Rd. I prefer Aristocrat for service.

Though I have never used them, I have heard good things about Full Throttle in Orlando. Be aware that they are scheduled pretty far in advance (probably a good sign).

PM me if you would like to discuss further.

I'm in Tampa also who at reeves do you use in the service dept? They are pretty good huh?
I just got my 2013 and looking for a good dealership and reeves is the closest to me.

I'm in Port Orange. I use Fields Daytona for service. Just had 40K service done for around 500.

Tampa here! New to the forum and the Touareg. I've had my '06 about 3 months now and I absolutely love driving it. Just trying to learn about what I'm driving. I like the performance of the V8 in mine, but I also like the TDI option. Anyone have an opinion on what a good upgrade model would be? Sounds like Tim at Reeves is the guy to talk to in the service department.

I love my new TDi. Live in Cape Coral, but bought the car in Naples as the Fort Myers dealership never has any. Not fully decided about service yet, but I think I will try Naples first as it is down the road from my office.

Does anybody know "soft" off road trails in Mid/south Florida?

Keep it under warranty, the Ft. Myers dealer is always trying to rope my family members into some kind of exorbitant priced service or another.

Not sure why my Dad chose to bring it there over Naples, good question I will have to ask him.

Wish I had time to locate a good indie shop down there for the Touareg.

Saw a black T3 FSI Sport at the gas station on i-drive yesterday.
Dirty and covered in bird droppings.
Owner should be ashamed!
