Hope this is the correct place to ask.

I ordered the can adaptor from Canshack. It shows that it was shipped on the 27th May, but there is no tracking number.
I have sent multiple emails and even called them but still no answer.
Does anyone have the same issue with them or if there is another way to get hold of these guys. Dead Horse

The first one shipped with DHL and took 1 week to get to me. The replacement one showed to have shipped via DHL too but there is no tracking number and it has been since the 27th.
These guys have the worst customer service follow up. They just don't reply to email or requests.

The first one I ordered, was stuck in customs for a few weeks and then my post office decided sent it back to Germany.... I then had to have it shipped again and it was here in a week.

Emailing them with my order number got me Stephan, who helped me track it down, through Deutschland Post.

GL! Worth the wait

I've usually received answers to general questions via email fairly quickly. But after ordering something they seem to disappear. I recently had to do a claim via PayPal to get my money back for their new backup cam video converter. :(

support@canshack.de Usually Stefan's address
canshack@gmx.de I got this one from Matthias

Either way, I usually got a reply in a day.. Depending on the time US/ German timezone

I did get to communicate with them a couple times and got my refund for the unit I sent back.
But I have now sent probably 10 emails with order number and asking about status and to give me a tracking number, but nothing.
I called them once and did speak with Matthias.
He said the item had shipped and he was going to mail me the tracking number(This was more than a week ago) still no email.
I called again but now they don't answer the phone.
All emails I send get redirected to the website support with a ticked number. I even logged on there and asked but no answer.
I just want to know if someone had a similar experience and should I just file a Paypal claim and try and buy the adapter through someone else if that is even possible?

Disclaimer: I love my CanShack converter. It works flawlessly in my 2006 Touareg with RNS-510.

My converter took almost a month to get here and sometimes communication was reasonably responsive (1-2 days), other times my emails would go unanswered.

The guys at CanShack do some amazing work and I was excited when I saw their new video converter. It allows you to use a basic composite video back up cam with the RNS-510. So I promptly placed my order. A day or so later I received an email stating that I needed one of their can bus converters for the video converter to work. I replied stating that I had one installed already. The replied that I would need to send it back to them for a software update. I replied that I didn't want to be without my RNS for that amount of time. I suggested a few other options, even willing to pay for a new one if they would refund my money when they received the 'old' one. That was the last I heard from them. I sent emails and support tickets for almost 2 months. I finally opened a ticket with PayPal for a refund. PayPal did an 'investigation' and never heard from anyone at CanShack.

It's too bad, because they do great work that I don't think anyone else has been able to match. Even with the negative experience I've had, I have been thinking about buying a new can bus converter and the new video converter from them, then trying to sell my lightly used can converter on here or ebay.

Does anyone have an adaptor for sale or is there another source to buy the adaptor. It has now been about a month and a half and nothing. Still no response from Canshack. I have sent multiple emails and have called but no go. I do see that they post on Facebook so the flooding hasn't affected their Facebook page I guess.

Has anyone else had contact from Canshack.
They are MIA and I still dont have my adaptor.
I have had to contact my CC company to try and get my money back.( Close to 60 Days)
Paypal as usual can't do anything as it was past 45 days.

Although they did great work with the adaptor, I now believe that they have gone downhill and are to me a fraudulent company and I would advice people not to buy from they!!!!!

I never received my product. I made a big stink on all the forums and paypal had informed me the money had been returned to my account. Nothing from Stephan to this day.... As a solution for the stereo, I used a class d amp stable to 1 ohm and some RCA cables along with a wiring diagram I got on here. Worked like a charm and couldn't be happier. The amp was less than the can shack adapter would be anyway and it's far better than stock. Screw those dudes....

Maybe Im misreading the product but I thought the adapter was needed for pre 2008 Treg to enable the steering wheel control, information display near speedometer, etc, to work. How would an amp make this work?

I'm asking b/c I want to upgrade the Canbus 1.6 Treg with a 510 but w/o them I don't see a way to get 100% functionality.

1 ohm stabe means I was able to bridge 3x 4ohm speakers to one ohm and run 4 channels. I immured the center and you would never miss it. I also used the stock power leads from the factory amp and added a powered sub with signal and power both from the amp (a pioneer) I believe

Terrific.

I wish that I had read this thread BEFORE I placed my order last Friday.
I need the converter to go from 04 Touareg canbus v1.6 to my new Android radio to get SWC and RVC working properly. And maybe as a bonus I'd get the radio info back on the MFI.

I never did email the fella, I just placed the order.
Now I wonder if I should start trying to get my $$$ back.

Note to myself: Search first before buying...

The can shack enables use of the factory digital amp as well, if you have one, the only way to replace a head unit is to also bypass the factory amp. I have a steering wheel control module, which is pretty readily available via eBay, amazon etc. to use for the steering wheel controls. It doesn't allow me go skip tracks from my steering wheel via Bluetooth and it doesn't display radio info or satnav info but that is more to do with my aftermarket appradio than it does with the adapter.

I can't believe how many people, based on how many replied just in a few hours on a Saturday night, that need/want this product.

If there is some German member who lives close, go buy a dozen in person, cash and carry, then mark them up double for all I care and sell them to those of us who want them quick and reliably.
