Can you hear the fuel pump?

Ive been chasing a vacuum leak on my 3.2. I have run out of broken hoses to fix, but I am still hearing something by the manifold shift vacuum actuator. I tested that and it seems fine(still hear noise when its line is plugged) It occurred to me that I think the fuel pump is behind it. Does that normally make a noise that could be mistaken for a air leak?

Thanks

Two fuel pumps inside the gas tank for the 2005 vehicles. They are under the rear seat, nowhere close to the engine.

Ask a smoker to blow smoke into the intake manifold under lung pressure and see if you can spot smoke coming out at a crack or the like.

If you can't get past the throttlebody, use one of the vacuum hoses to blow smoke into the intake manifold.

You may have to block the exhaust as well otherwise if a valve overlap is present the smoke will just pass through the engine.
