Nope...! Front rotors and pads would cost you more than $250, even if you do it yourself and use cheap aftermarket parts.- Do not recommend this -. There are better aftermarket parts (i.e. Hawke) available but would be more than your allotted budget. Don't forget to change the wheel speed sensors too!

$250 usd is slightly low if you want OEM quality parts -- either VW from an online source or aftermarket like Pagid brake pads (OEM manufacturer, Euro ECE R90 certified) and Zimmermann rotors (German TUV certified), both made in Germany.

However, it is possible if you use US brand (Bendix, Raybestos, Wagner, Centric) parts that are not legal for sale in Europe. These EE or FF friction rated front pads are less than $40 (plus shipping). And cheap, uncoated rotors made in who knows where are less than $40 each plus shipping. With wear sensors you likely can spend less than $200 shipped.

Brake pad check, ECE Regulation 90:

I personally like the OEM pad bite and am willing to deal with the dust. Many do not and prefer Hawk pads and give up some bite. I believe with weak pads you have to increase pedal effort to compensate, using up brake reserve and placing more load in the hydraulic system.

You may be in either group, but if you like OEM pads then I would recommend Pagid with GG friction rating and Zimmermann anti-corrosion coated rotors. I wired brushed and reused the hardware kit.

Brakes are too important to go cheap.

Could you advise me why you would need to change the speed sensors??

What are Textar pads like? Is there any issue mixing pads between front and back? Pagid front and Textar rear on Zimmerman's?

Brakes would work, but i wouldnt run different pads front and rear or at least ensure they were the same friction rating.

Different friction ratings would mess with the designed balance ratio betwwen front and rear systems if you know what i mean.

Eg if you put high friction ratings in the rear and ceramics in the front i would think the back would have a tendency to brake harder in proportion to the front.

This may stuff with the ABS and affect stability but i would like to hear others opions/thoughts.
