I think I read somewhere on the board that a member was able to increase the gain on their oem bluetooth microphone in a facelift touareg. Can someone confirm and if so give instructions?
thanks

I did this on ours - I reduced microphone sensitivity Channel 131 because it was hard to hear the person talking from it like it was distorted. By reducing the sensitivity it really helped making it clearer. Here's how you do it using Vag-Com.

Setup the telephone controller to function as per the settings chosen.
Telephone – Controller 77
The controller soft coding should be set to 0000422

I need this done also my bluetooth is horrible everyone complains the can't hear me and i hear then just fine. It has been this way since new and everytime I have complained about it to dealer they said it test fine. It is so useless i dread using the phone. I will pay someone with a VAGCOM for results. Long Island New York Area.

My VAG-com lists the controller for the telephone in the menu........are you sure that you have an updated version of the software?

if not, just do an auto update.

If so.......

I find that when I call my wife in the Touareg that her voice is distorted like she is in an airplane. Would adjusting the sensitivity help this? I had turn off the A/C while speaking to me it helped a little bit but did not resolve the issue and the last thing I want her to do is turn off the A/C everytime someone calls her in the Tourareg. Any ideas?

It will help but my permanent fix was stuffing foam around the microphone on the inside portion of the headliner where it is located. I also blocked off all the holes in that area. THAT finally solved our bluetooth problem. It seems that wind noise from the buffeting of the roof is being picked up by the back of the microphone.

I know this is an old thread, but I recently purchased a 2016 Touareg LUX TDI, and the bluetooth sound reception for whoever is listening to the person in the car is the worst I've ever heard. I have tried finding the mic sensitivity in VCDS and have had no luck for this model year. Same goes for finding the Green Screen. I have tried every way I can find through searches, and my car either doesn't have those modules, or they don't connect, and the button pushing to get to the green screen doesn't do it, either.

I did pull off the cover to the Homelink panel to access the microphones, though, and stuffed the empty space between them and the roof with foam from jewelry boxes. This made a remarkable improvement. It's still not crystal clear, but it no longer has the choppy, intermittent sound that it had before. I may try to find some better foam or sound deadener and re-do it. Here is a picture of what it looks like with the cover off. There are tabs on all four sides of the cover, but the largest ones are on top, so I recommend prying up the cover from the bottom first. I managed to do it without damage.

I would still like to play with the mic sensitivity, so if anyone knows how to do that via VCDS on a 2016 model I would appreciate it.
