My 2009 TDI returned from an oil change at the dealer (baffles in oil pan prevent me from doing myself using extraction) with a rattling noise down bellow. An inspection of the underside revealed that the center sound baffle (belly pan) was incorrectly installed. I emailed the service mgr and attached photos and a video but of course received no reply. I forgot about it until this past weekend when my why reported "something hanging from bottom of car". I crawled underneath and found that the belly pan was hanging from one remaining screw. I pulled the belly pan off and inspected it to find that the reason it was not installed properly by the dealer was that they broke off the front "lip" that normally clips in to hold the front of the pan in place. I'm now looking at $265 for the belly pan alone not including the hardware. I won't even bother calling the dealer (Newton VW in Newton, NJ) because they will undoubtedly deny causing the damage. I have called VW customer service so many times to complain about that dealer that I lost count.

Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket belly pan or skid plate (like the Panzer Plate I have for my Jetta) that I can substitute rather than spending all of this money on a piece of German plastic?

/\ this is why, once my free service is up, VW dealerships will most likely never touch my VW again, the technicians, consistently, are hacks and butchers with the plastics and the fasteners.
