Top gear ratio:
First gear ratio: 4.2
Second gear ratio: 2.4
Third gear ratio: 1.6
Fourth gear ratio: 1.2
Fifth gear ratio: 0.9
Sixth gear ratio: 0.7
Final drive ratio: 4.6
Turn circle: 12 m

This is what I have found.. It is for the V6, but i believe they are all same.. And Read somewhere, that when they used a V10 to pull the Boeing 747 had to put a V8 axle, because the V10 has 3,27 and the V8 4,56..

Volkswagen Touareg 3.2 2005 specs, performance, consumption

Earlier Cayenne GTS 2.92
2013 Cayenne GTS 3.090

The 6 speed gearbox appeared in the T1 and T2 from 2004 to 2010 in NA. I assumed they all had the same final drive ratio but Edmunds says the 2009 gas and TDI have a 4.56 ratio and the link above says the 2010 TDI has a 3.90 and the gas a 4.56. Neither are official VW literature.

I suppose the VR6 and V8 had the 4.56 and the V10 and V6 TDI had different funal drive ratios.
.

As i said above V10 and R5 have 3.3, gas V8 has 4.6. When the V10 pulled a 747 the only thing they changed was the axle ratio from 3.3 to V8s 4.6 .

That V10 swapped out to the shorter V8 ratio, must have had pulled some nice 0-100km/h times I bet!

Hmmmmmm.....

I'm not doubting your info at all. My original question stands, "what is the axle ratio in the 2009-2010?" Since I posted it in the Diesel section I assumed you fellers would catch my drift.:p
So,rephrase: What is the final drive (differential) ratio in the 2009-10 North American Touareg with the 3.0 V6 TDI ?

Sorry about that - I've seen that info somewhere - thought it was in the back of the brochures.

I'll see if I can track it down.

I'm thinking to change my front and rear diff.
Currently my 2007 R5TDI has a final ratio of 4.10. It has an auto trans with 0.69 ratio in 6th gear.
When i'm driving 120kph, the engine revs about 2400rpm.

Other R5TDI Touaregs with manual gearbox have a final ratio of 3.27, same as the V10.
But the manual gearboxes only have 0.89 as top gear ratio so they rev also around 2400rpm and have the same performance as an auto trans toaureg.

I bought a set of 3.27 diff's but unfortunately i didn't have the time to build them in :s
It's a try to make my fuel consumption even less than now. At highway speeds (120kph) the engine should rev the same as a v10 touareg and T3 V6TDI, 1800rpm. I know that my performance will drop but thats not a problem to me, i'm a lazy driver ;-)

They made a lot final drive ratio's. You can check your own by looking at the diff code.
A list from elsawin:
-4.55
-4.30
-4.10
-3.90
-3.70
-3.54
-3.27
