The spring on our driver's side one seems to have broken - over use by swmbo :rolleyes: - so need to try and repair or replace....

Any help/guidance would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

I haven't replaced them but I have removed them. My drivers side was loose because the screw holding the plastic trim that puts tension on the spring was loose. Try tightening the screws first. If that doesn't work you could probably just bend the spring to put more tension the visor.
:?::?:

Thanks for your post, but I can't make sense of what you say.....

It seems that on ours the spring is/was inside the actual visor itself...?? It now "flops" on the rail with no tension...

Tried removing the visor and got to the point where it was only attached by the lead for the power supply to the mirror light....but no screw or spring visible at all....?? Also no visible means of disconnecting the power supply lead???

OK....Look at the drivers side visor now rotate it towards the drivers side window. The plastic piece attached to the headliner that the visor snaps into is your problem. Get a straight pick and use it to carefully remove the plastic trim that covers the screw hole. You will see a small line on the back of this piece. The Screw is a torx 15 IIRC. If you remove the screw you will be able to separate the metal spring from the plastic trim. Now bend the metal if necessary to put more tension on the visor rod.

The visor power lead is connected above the headliner; there is no reason to pull the visor out completely.

Ok, from your description I think you are referring to the mount in the centre of the car, next to the rear view mirror.....hmmmm I did have a look at that too, but I can have another go!

But from memory the passenger side one seems to have "resistance" even when its not clipped into that fitting.....

But thanks very much for persevering....I shall be taking another look tonight!!

Sadly it was as I suspected....clip next to rear view mirror isn't what needs adjusting/fixing..... :(
