:cool::cool::cool: just curious :cool::cool::cool:

Spied it & got it for 1st time today. Was CHEAP too; was $1.679, while other nearby popular stations (Wawa & RaceTrac) have diesel for $1.799. :D

Applies to Exxon and Mobil Synergy Diesel Efficient branded fuel compared to diesel fuel without detergent additive, and assumes a 250 gallon tank and an average of 7 miles per gallon. Vehicle testing showed an average fuel economy improvement of 2 percent. Actual benefits will vary depending on factors such as vehicle/engine type, driving style and diesel fuel previously used.

Additives don't increase MPG, unless you are putting out visible black smoke before additive, and have no black smoke afterwards. I tried a FULL bottle of Howe's additive, that had a guarantee on the bottle saying something like a 5.7% increase in MPG. I meticulously recorded my mileage, and compared it to prior to using it, and the difference was like 1.5%. I sent Howe's my data, and they gave me my money back.

Diesel fuel additives are one of the world's great mysteries, unless you're a chemist. Here in Europe all diesel has to meet a regulated minimum of additives and there's no hard evidence that the big brand additive packages are any better although plenty of unsubstantiated anecdotal evidence from users.

If US diesel has no minimum additive standard, regular use of added additives will help to keep the system clean.

In Australia the diesel premium is only around 10 to 15% now. Previously the price was about the same. The fuel consumption of my Treg 4.2 V8 TDI is about half that of my previous petrol 4.5 l Landcruiser that had comparable weight and towing capabilities and a bit less power and torque. So it would need a much bigger 80 to 100% diesel premium to consider going back to petrol

Diesel is 5.99 pretty much everywhere around Philly right now. Regular is 3.99. Premium is ~$5 +/- $0.10. Since I would run Premium if I had a VR6, the cost delta from Premium to Diesel of $1 is more than offset by the increase in efficiency. I just did a 28.8 mpg hand calc’d tank average over 496 miles, which included 2 commutes to work and a trip to Connecticut for my cousins engagement party this weekend.

Only if I ran regular Would the net-cost be a wash, but I would not run regular. And the TDI makes 400 torque lol
