Plenty of 17" for sale I'm sure on EBay. You just need to wadd through all the other stuff to find them.

 

There are not to many tire sizes for 19˝ wheels at all. Better keep looking for 17˝, much more tire sizes and many more AT tires.

You could look out for 18 inchers too - again there is more choice of tires

 

I have two sets of wheels, 18" and 19".
On the 18" I have 265/65/18 BFG ATs.
I am considering these for the V10's 19" wheels:

Imho, don't do it...a low side wall and offroading are a no-no, especially for your control arm bushings, suspension, rims and.....butt....this tire would come in a 275/45/r19 size and it's a size that wouldn't allow lower psi's. There's no meaning in riding on these tires....not good on road or off road...very, very special tire...

These are 255/55/r19 and look how low is their sidewall...not good for rocks or sand(for the later it is mandatory that when you air down the tires you still have some sidewall up, otherwise the rim pattern would hinder your progress)...again don't do it...18 inch wheels and the 30,5 diameter maximum for the V10 is the way to go....

 

255/55/19 are not classified as low profiles, at least not in my book.

 

I highly doubt that's fitting the t2's wheel well

 

They're not low profile per say but what's the meaning of sacrificing a 3/4 of an inch in sidewall height over the 265/60/r18s? Lower sidewalls are better in terms of on road handling...as I see it you're looking for some off road action with this tire thread...you're going to suffer more with this size...not to mention all the suspension components that you need to consider protecting...higher side walls offer extra cushioning and are more adjustable in different off road conditions...ofc you might have something else in mind and all I'm talking here is just conventional thinking...

The question was re 19" AT tyres. (tires for the US guys )

He did not mention what the intended application is. If it is 'mild' off-road excursions, 255/55/19's would do just fine, regardless of brand.

As a matter of interest, I did the Sani Pass between South Africa and Lesotho in my V10 with 285/45/19 Michelin low profiles, without any problems. Knowing your vehicle and your tyres (especially their limitations) will take you a long way.

I would however not do 'serious' off-road work with those.

Op, do you have a tdi or the v6 listed in your profile? If only the v6, you have the option of going a little larger in tire size due to added clearance from not having the intercooler in the wheel well.

 

I wish you were in Boston. I'd trade my stock 17's for your 19's.

You guys should take those statements to the classifieds.

You might be able to find someone in your area looking to cross-grade.
Offroad interests or maybe someone with some steering shake.

 

Guys, I live in south florida. No rocks to climb here just swampy trails in the Everglades. So I'm not worried about decreasing tire pressure and all that. Yep I have the v6, I just need something to grip me through some water and mud.

 

And it's honestly so much easier to find some tires for my 19s. Nobody wants to trade, I found one guy but he backed out so I just want some tires.
