annoying rattle from sunroof

My 2012 TDI lux has a super annoying rattle coming from the sunroof whenever the road is not super smooth. As I live in the mountains of beautiful Idaho and 75% of the roads here are dirt roads and the paved ones feel like they are dirt roads, it rattles about 95% of the time. If I open the roof and close it again the rattle is way less for 5 minutes and then it returns. Keep opening the sunroof every 5 minutes is not something I want to do. I have asked the dealer to check the sun roof and grease it but that did not help. My feeling is that the noise comes from the sunroof shaking against the rubbers. I have tried greasing them with glycerin but that didn't really help.

Does anyone have the same problem and more importantly, does anyone know a cure?

In my experience my Volkswagen sun-roofs are solid and have never rattled. I dont think this is super common in the Touareg either.

If you put pressure on the sunroof w/ your hand when its rattling, does the rattling stop? Does it matter if the sunroof is open or closed?

I think I need to lube mine. It is getting much colder now and when it is below 25°F / -4C , the sunroof on my 2010 rattles a bit, even on a smooth road. I did press against it last night while driving and it seemed to help. It is new to me so I am working my way through my normal routine for new to me vehicles and haven't gotten to that yet.
