How do you engage the AWD?

 

Thanks for replying. There's a knob next to the shifter. I turn the knob, and get an indicator on the dash - it's a green icon of a vehicle climbing a hill.

 

This model is permanent awd, it cannot be turned off like in 4wd vehicles.

If I'm reading this right, I confused "all wheel drive" with "off road".

I'm guessing "off road" is limited to 20 mph or less. Is that about right?

That is not the AWD. I’d recommend reading your glovebox manual and learning what all of these features do and how they work.

 

Yes. Switching to off road is for slower speed (off roading) the AWD is permanent. No need to change to off road for snow.

 

The off-road mode essentially gives you hill descent control (the green indicator you see) and modified ABS/traction control.

 

Additionally, off road mode combined with turning TCS off allows even greater wheelspin. Great for ripping off donuts, but terrible for driving on the street in snowy or icy weather.

 

So on your indicator, the vehicle is climbing the hill? Very interesting!
