Aftermarket stereo help, 2010 TDI w/ RNS-510

Like the title says, I have a 2010 TDI Lux with the Nav/DVD RNS-510 system. I have Bluetooth phone but not audio, and my AUX plug doesn't work. I can only listen to my downloaded music so much. I will be starting a new job that requires me to commute a bit and I am in a huge need to get my audio working because my RF transmitter is garbage, just like the 2 more I had before it.

I tried using one of those bluetooth transmitters that plugs into the 30 pin in the glovebox and that didnt work. I am thinking about replacing my AUX plug but it seems like it could be a waste of money if it is not the actual plug thats wrong.

Now I am looking into new aftermarket stereos and getting rid of the factory system. Has anyone done this? is it hard getting the steering wheel buttons and camera to work on the new system?
I am looking at a Pioneer or Alpine system because I know and love brands. I need it to link to an android and mirror my screen.

are there any problems with switching that anyone has dealt with when doing this? I have replaced a lot of stereos in the past and am not worried about it for most cars, but these VWs are tricky most of the time.

I have the 7L but had the DVD Nav and 11 speaker/amp system. Just bought a HU off AliExpress that is fantastic.

Supports Android Auto, CarPlay (including Wireless) and SIM Card support to have it run stand alone. I bought the top end for $400.

Do you have a link for the one you bought? How did you replace all the buttons under it for heat parking and volume? We're those built in?

I often have issues with my AUX (also have a 2010 TDI Lux)...I saw a video on YouTube where they demonstrate how to restart the system using the buttons on either side of slot where you insert a CD (i.e. simultaneously press the left arrow, then right arrow...and the button with a star on the far right side). Works for me. If what I explained doesn't make sense...you can watch the video (starts at about 55 seconds)...

Not hard at all. You can also likely find a shop to do it for $200-300 (with camera that comes with it installed for backup)

I really like how it looks. The reviews aren't bad. And the price is good. Almost good to the point, I want to try it out just to see how it goes.

I am suspicious of the reviews. Most don't say any thing but 5 stars so who did them? I would bet the manufacturer. At least on Amazon reviewers say something even if it's one word. But for the price it is inviting. I see some reviewers state the steering wheel controls don't work with this one.
And I see Aliexpress has two models that look identical. What is there difference except one is a better buy and more discounted. Makes you want to opt for the more expensive one if I could figure out the difference. Any thoughts?
