I have a 2016 150TDI and I wish to add a fridge and lithium battery to run it.
I have inspected under the passenger seat and noticed that F10 is a spare terminal.
My plan is to add a 30amp charger via a relay and fuse connected to when the ignition is ON, connected from F10 to the charger which in turn will charge my lithium battery.
Is this the correct way of doing this?
Has anybody else installed a fridge in the back?

Hi mate,
Many have, and you are on the right track, connect to a switched positive of the relevant amperes and simple hookup to your battery.
Location depends upon the size of battery etc, many have installed in the spare wheel well.

New here: I have a Iceco 50 qt refrigerator in the back of my 2012 TDI. It’s running off the 12 volt outlet on my Ecoflow River Pro. The Ecoflow is plugged into the Touareg’s 12 volt outlet, when driving. While I am in camp the EcoFlow is connected to a 100 watt solar panel. This setup works, nicely and offers more options for powering other devices from the EcoFlow.

Our 50qt ARB fridge/freezer pinned to one side by the winch mounted to the roll-bar. Winch can be stabbed front or out back. The National Luna battery mgt case is pinned driver side & charges the Group 31 battery and manages the Bosh solar array & charger. Full recovery kit, camping gear, etc fill in the rest. Roll bar is for the endurance rally we do & to prevent gear from coming forward in case of a roll over when off-road exploring. This has worked for us these past 11 years & 144k miles of off-road adventures.

I positioned mine directly behind the passenger seat after folding the rear seats down. The EcoFlow is on the floor, this allows me to charge the EcoFlow with a solar panel by opening a rear window. Unfortunately the Touareg doesn’t have a split rear hatch/ window, like my BMW 328d xDrive.

Like your winch setup, portable electric winch that can be hooked up either end?
Would be good to see the mounts where you hook it up

We simply have a 2" hitch receiver in front and another in the rear. Use the same pin that would secure a ball hitch to secure the tray mounted winch. Like that the winch is stored inside out of the elements.

@Bazza57 I took a slightly different approach. I ran heavy cables back from the battery terminals (through a circuit breaker) to a 60 amp relay hidden behind the rear bumper. I picked up a +ve from the 12v socket in the boot to trigger the relay (it only runs with the engine on). I run a couple of Anderson plugs for c'van stuff (van fridge, ESC) but also took a fused 12v after the relay to the dc-dc charger for the second battery. I find this works well, didn't cost a bomb, charges the 2nd battery no problem plus I can pick up 12v of the main battery as well for other stuff if I want. Just some ideas to add to the mix

The fridge works really well on the 100AH Lithium battery.
I was concerned that the battery might go flat if parked up for a couple days but that was not a problem.
Just completed a 5000Kms trip over a month and all went well. No need for a blanket or panel to charge the battery.
