Greetings,
I bought my T2 before 6 months now. and the ride is sooo great and feels like a great car. several days ago, I felt that my AC is not cooling wel as it used to. so i went yo a good mechanic who informed me that i need a new AC compressor along with an AC tank drayer. The original AC compressor for the T2 cost a small fortune. so he suggested me to bring a japanese compressor (Denso Brand), which cost 1/3 the price of the original. however, he told me that i need to buy an original AC tank Drayer. what do you think guys, any possible suggestios for a good AC compressor and drayer tank brands rather than the original VW ones ?

Has anyone had to replace air con lines? I had one replaced on warranty, but now told three lines are leaking and must be replaced. list for 3 lines - over $800. in Canada. Has anyone tried making up replacement lines? Are the fittings metric? I did this on a Citroen SM some years ago. Dealer line almost $300. - I had one made up in aeroquip for less than $20. Comments or suggestions welcome - I still love my 2006 V10! -

I believe that the air drier looking from the front of the car is inside condenser on the left hand side, checking on VAG CAT there must be at least 20 lines going to differing places so how can they be so specific. Go here to see how many there are, you may have to become a member but it costs nothing.

air con lines

thanks for the link Ians touareg. Can't find the part numbers that my VW dealers gave me 7L6820750AB, 7L6820017C, 7L6820722F.
And the question is - can these be made up in a flexible line like aeroquip.
thanks in advance for any suggestions, comments, or?

I would say highly unlikely as they are appear to be hard tubes, the first has a T junction in it. The second is also a hard pipe with a small section of flexible pipe. The third I don't know as it isn't as clear as a picture would be. Also these are shown from a Audi, same car slightly different panels and name of course. Hope it helps.
