Hello all,
I have Touareg 7P 2016 rline with air suspension and I am a little bit disappointed with it. I was expecting, that in Comfort mode will be like a boat, but its not 😢
On the forum I found, that rline have another air spring than standard version and another VAG setting. Is it possible to code standard setting of the nonrline to the rline?

Few days ago I found in VCDS is possible to select a "profile" of the air suspension "Offroad" for nonRline and "Offroad Sport" for Rline, but I cant find it again. Anyone know, what I mean? Thanks!

BTW: Wheels 255/55/r18 2,3bar (33 PSI)

I'm a little confused as to what you are actually saying and looking the suspension to do.

You are disappointed that the Confort setting is like being in boat or that it is not like a boat? I did find that the RLine Sport setting seems a little softer than the same setting in my previous 7L as I can handle my local crappy roads in Sport whereas previously, (in the 7L) it was just too firm to be anywhere near comfortable so had to dial down a notch or two.

This is definitely a major factor. Large rims and low profile sidewalls equals a harsh ride, regardless of suspension.

I find my ā€˜15 R-line rides decently in normal or comfort mode. We have pretty good roads here, though. No potholes etc. if you want a cushy boat-like SUV, get a Cadillac.

The OP has already said he has 255/55R18's fitted, so can't be experiencing harshness from original OEM 21" fitment.

@Jarda34 - one thing I haven't seen anyone ask is "what" tyres are you running? I know they're 255/55/18 but what brand are they? Are they XL rated? Are they a brand with renowned stiff sidewalls? Keeping your tyre size the same but changing brands might also make a difference.

I can confirm that the Continental ContiPremium Contacts (275/40/21) I had on previously rode softer than the Opals FH18 (295/40/21) units I have on now. And, as you can see, I've gone up slightly in size so a few extra mm of sidewall, but still more firm due to a different construction and grade of rubber.

I rode in a Tiguan the other day with 235/55/18s. I took it to a service station to check the pressures in the tyres because it felt like I was riding in a brick. Turns out they're correct - just stiff sidewalls.

I'll also add that I've lowered my Touareg by one whole setting - ie my "comfort" ride height is now the original "standard" ride height because I was the other end of the spectrum - I wasn't getting enough tautness out of "Sport", combined with the fact that it looked like a cat on a hot tin roof (way up in the air).

For me, I now have a soft ride in Comfort for bad roads, a decent ride in Normal for everyday driving, and in Sport, the Touareg goes around bends flat. I can actually feel the suspension stiffen when changing from Normal to Sport (no change in ride height between the 2) whereas before it all felt just vague.

Start looking at tyre specs to see if you can get closer to what you're looking for.
