Gold Coast to Brisbane and back... 5.5l/100kms. My previous 2014 Touareg with the same 3.0 litre V6 diesel used to get around 6.8-7.2l/100km on its best days. Notwithstanding it was in traffic most of the way there and back (helps a little getting a tow), I did sit on the 100-110kph speed limits most of the way - 95% highway/motorway.

They have definitely done some tweaking of the performance and efficiency... impressive.

Look ahead to experiencing the same Paul.
V8TDI sits around 6.7 on a similar run but will report what the new one does, especially with the AdBlue difference, I assume yours doesn't have that.
VW are pretty good with their diesels for sure!

I got 6.4 on a 150km drive from Noosa. Highway speeds for the most part.

I know some will say that the car isn't accurate. But assuming the car calculates volume of fuel consumed via fuel metering and it knows how far it's gone, I can't see how it can be too far wrong :)

Seriously impressed that a 2.3 tonne SUV with a 4.0 V8 can do those kind of numbers. Of course it's equally capable of significantly higher consumption if you want it to :D

I've got 5.7 to 6 L/100 Km on frequent runs to Caloundra and back. Just me on board but still impressive economy. Also at highway speeds! I measured the fuel used over distance on a drive to Charleville (about 700 km each way) and return last year, and the car's calculated consumption was within 0.2 L/100 so I'm happy with the instrumentation accuracy.

As stated above, impressive economy from, in my case a 3 Litre 2 ton car!!
