I only deal with people coming over to my house when it's big\bulky stuff... I'm not gonna lug around things like tires\wheels\toolboxes or whatever as there's a lot of no-shows or just tire-kickers..... I also enjoy pointing to the fancy vehicle they just pulled up in (typically a modern high end vehicle) when they start crying poor and offering 1/2 the previously already negotiated price

and guns are illegal here, so not all weirdos can pull on you when things get spicy
Dude - CL is so shady.. you better be careful agree with others to meet elsewhere if you sell on CL too many horror stories...
Maybe you will run into that road rage lady that $h!t on someones car and then what you gonna do........

I agree, I wouldn't trade to a dealer unless I knew there was some problem with the vehicle and couldn't sell it in good conscience to an individual.
But to each their own... Some people don't want to deal with tire kickers and broke people coming to look at it.
I'm holding off on my 60K service as I don't want to spend $$ on service and will also need tires and likely brakes for upcoming inspection in Sept.

I just did the HVAC fan on mine (As of April 2025, latest VW part is 7P0820021H for the fan blower motor according to my receipt), really easy job even for a tall person like myself who normally hates anything under the dash. Good videos on YouTube-recommend doing your cabin air filter while you're in there.

There were threads I came across indicating it could be the HVAC controller head, which requires some coding or adaptdation with replacement, I think. But in my case it was the most common issue of a shorted resistor.

No relation with them, but I always buy from ECS Tuning because of their Lifetime Replacement policy on parts like this that are common to go out every X years/miles/hours. If you want to be thrifty, the Chrysler 200 uses the identical motor and control unit and you can get a cheap one at AutoZone and transplant the parts needed from the 200 fan onto your existing fan.
Been there done that - Had blower replaced @ 32K - Did not fix issue
Back to VW several times to remediate same condition under CPO
VW Replaced Expansion Valve, Drain/fill refrigerant - Did not fix issue
Lemon Law prevailed = $$$$
Issue unresolved -

A/C works just fine round town but soon as you hit 1hr + driving the condition reveals its head :alien:

Nah, rather keep the Treg.. Q5 is lackluster and boring IMO
We have a excellent condition Q5 with the sport interior, black headliner and sport seats. I would say the Q5 is sporty and nimble, not boring and not as solid as a Touareg. The Touareg just feels tight, the steering and brakes are way better. I'll take my treg any day over a q5.
Most people no absolutely nothing about the Touareg and think an Audi q5 is better and more upscale. They have no clue.

To everyone saying how much "smaller" the Macan is over the Touareg, you must have some really calibrated Seat Of The Pants gauges!
. The Touareg's rear legroom is 36.7 inches, compared to the Macan's 35.6 inches. The Touareg also has more rear headroom, 38.9 inches, while the Macan offers 38.3 inches

Q5 lackluster and boring? How old are the q5's you've driven? They're one of the best riding SUV's in modern days and with the 3.0T they're downright nasty.

Interior designs have gotten a lot more space efficient... a VW Golf now has as much leg room as my T2.
Yep! Your average runabout in 2025 probably has more interior space than the famed land-yachts of the 70s, 80s and 90s.

I'm comparing a 2013 model year Touareg to a 2015 Q5, not a vehicle that's 12 years newer.

Ah - you didn't actually mention years in your previous post and kept it very blanketed. The 2016+ Q5 was much nicer than pre 2016. And the 2017 was even nicer. And the 2021 is on another level. 2013 was still considered a prime time to own a Touareg, with very little on the market being comparable.

Let me know if you want to dive into a diag on that... I messed around with my A/C last year because the "Pros" had no idea what they were doing.... I might be able to provide some useful info.
Let's see how this plays out.. I might take you up on that..

Caveat: No VAG com scanner, only ODB11 - conjecture on my part is it is related to servo motor / door flap ?

From a driving perspecive, steering, chassis, numb and dumb.. Soaks up bumps well but booring 😪 Besides that everyone has one

You lost me.
Are you talking about some faults that I'm supposed to check my crystal ball in order to get details of?
Maybe you should start your own discussion with some pertinent details, etc.

Figured you would $h!t your britches when I said no VAG com scanner. :p

This is off topic and least of my concerns at this point, you offered to 'dive into a diag' - I said I might take you up on it..
Put your crystal ball away you can always dust it off later on someone else

Nothing really different about the Q5 2016 and 2017. Same out dated tech.

Q5 2009-2012 1st gen
Q5 2013 thru 2017 1st gen facelift.
Q5 2018-2020 2nd gen.
Q5 2021-2024 2nd gen facelift

Have you driven the Macan much? We put nearly 100,000 miles on ours and it was a great car for what it was... but it felt completely different than our Touareg and I ended up selling the Macan at 109,000 miles for a Touareg with 50k.

If you're coming from Touareg, I found Macan to be a downgrade in daily enjoyment other than that it was small and fast. Ours did not have significant mechanical issues at any time over 109,000 miles, just expensive porsche dealer maintenance
Which year/model did you have? Did you buy new or CPO? How were your 100K miles - any major issues?

I always get the q5 and q7 gens mixed up - thanks for the clarification
