Hi everyone - my 2016 TDI with 73k miles has an oil leak & would greatly appreciate your collective expertise. Took it to the dealer a few months ago and was told the oil pan leaked. They replaced the pan & covered it under warranty. But it still leaks. Returned to the dealer & now they’ve diagnosed it as ‘oil sealing flange is leaking’. The proposed repair is $6k and includes an Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler for $1300, an engine Coolant Thermostat/Engine Oil Filter Housing for $800, and a water pump.
I’m not a diesel mechanic but it sounds like a bit more than a leaking flange. Does this sound right?
