So , to be more clear:

In summary you need the following:
1) some specific settings in the green menu --> follow chapter 3 of my guide
2) install GE activation script --> follow point b of chapter 2

point c of Chapter 2 is optional and needed only if something is not working for diag.

Has anyone successfully updated their USA-spec system?

Sorry. Never tried.
You can try and see if it works.
Install makes a back-up on SD of previous situation and you can always come back.

It should be safe even if I cannot confirm it because I did not test it.

I had my system updated K0821 and the latest maps (6.23.2) at the dealer (2011 euro-Treg). However very little seems changed.
I would like to give this activation routine a shot if someone has a link to the scripts...

I cannot check right now. Are you saying that the link at discussion 300 is dead ?

Also, do I have to have a wifi-router with WWRT in order to make this work? There seem to be a lot of router side activities and I'm not really clear on what is being accomplished aside from allowing a connection.

Yes, back-up is part of the cript and stores your data.pst in the SD.
If you have SIM module no need for router.

No way for mirrorlink unless you like to change the radio system :wink2:

For google maps, you can activate Google Earth that is a layer above the installed map.
For doing this you need to update your FW end activate some features in the system.

There are very detailed tutorial in the net ... some are from myself.

Befor to apply you need to upgrade FW to version K0821:
Êàðòû 6.22.4 íà K0821 - Ôîðóì Touareg Club

Apply the last map update:
RNS-850 Maps 6.24.2 Europe 7P6051850AT - Ôîðóì Touareg Club
and activate it with KELDO activator.

Yes, you can upgrade directly to FW 821 and 6.24.2.
Spanish language is supported as far as Spain will remain in Europe

Normally the user mode is necessary for MAP upgrade (for FW is non necessary).
Anyhow you can try at first the automaic process, if it ends vewy quickly you will need to repeate it in user mode.

If you have SIM slot, you do not need to install the script "01 -RNS850-GE-WIFI".
Of course you do not need external router and modem.
You only need to apply the Green Menu modification as per my guide and the script "02 - RNS850-GE_ENABLE".

Yes. I used the same.
Now there is another activator that is derived from the KELDO one but not requiring WLAN MCADDRESS: "Keldo's activator script modified by DarkDll"
I did not test it but people confirm it is working.

It is up to you to decide which of the two to use

I have a question. If i have a sim slot in my RNS850 i must only copy director and files from 02 - RNS850-GE_ENABLE directory to SD Card and run script and then only activate option in green menu ?

This script also works on Audi MMi 3G and 3GP ?
