Considering 17/19/23 is the listed MPG, and this vehicle's engine isn't even broken in yet, hitting 25.5 on a 20mile mixed back road/highway trip, I think getting 25.5 was pretty cool.

Great MPG.

I have been looking into a used VR6 as the TDI is out of my price range, and this is good news that even the Vr6 can get good gas mileage.

How do you feel about the performance? I have driven 5-6 TDI's and it feels great, lots of power all the time, I hope the vr6 doesn't feel overweight.

I've never driven the TDIs so I can't compare to that. However coming off a Lincoln Navigator I find the performance outstanding ;)

It's no Volvo 850 Turbo Wagon (gawd that thing was fast) but I have zero complaints about how it performs.

BTW - I doubt I will see 25.5 figures as routine, but it's nice to know it is capable of it.

My detailer is coming Sunday to apply Bullet Proof by C.A.R. After I give it a good day to cure I'll get some pictures out.

When I picked up the 2014 I made sure the dealer did not apply any badges, or use anything mechanical to clean the car. While the vehicle came to my dealer via another in NH, I don't see any swirls so it appears to be untouched paint.

I've driven them all and VR-6 felt a bit livelier than the TDI, not as exciting as the hybrid of course :) but definitely NOT underpowered.

TDI has more power than VR-6. It's livelier, too, due to all the torque. Nothing wrong with the VR-6, though.

Doesn't take a whole lot to be better then a Navigator. I had a 98 and an 01 before trading my 01 in on my 04 VR6 Treg. The Treg would out run my 01 any day and it had the Intech 5.4L in it. Biggest issue with those was the trannies were not geared right imo. I had a pass here in UT that if I lost momentum in either Lincoln I could not build up speed anymore in it. The Treg had no issue what so ever with the VR and the TDI was just that much better.

any reports of bad mileage out there?
I have 1300 miles on my 2014 3.6 and have not broke 20 yet..
I was breaking it in real softly and that may be the difference but I have been very disappointed in the mileage so far.
How bout early oil changes for break in period?

20 on the long term or since start or since refuel?

Anyhow, I am at 5800 now on my 2014, and my long term average is 20. That's with the bulk of my miles being around town and more frequent use of sport mode lately. Highway miles I don't tend to drive...um...sedately..so I seldom see much above 20 anyway.
