I've recently bought a 2013 Volkswagen Touareg V6 TDI. The vehicle has just over 130K miles and is in immaculate condition. I'm just wondering if there is anything I should be on the lookout for? From my previous research I've seen these things can be extremely reliable with correct maintenance. I thought of buying a 2017 V6 but decided to get the TDI after some extensive research. I payed 12,500 (usd) for the vehicle and it does have 4 previous owners. Should I be concerned and is there anything I need to be on the lookout for? Thank you.

Congrats on your purchase.
4 previous owners. Did it come with any kind of service history?
Do you know what fluids/components have been serviced prior to your purchasing it?
One thing I will suggest as a Treg owner is that you should pick up a VCDS cable so you can do an auto-scan to look for any stored faults not causing a check engine light (CEL). You'll also have the ability to code certain options not included from the factory.
One other thing, don't mention whether or not the high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) should be changed as a preventive maintenance item, it's a touchy subject around here.

 

Thank you for the knowledgeable reply , It has some extensive service history (and Carfax) that include your general services and fluid changes, It currently doesn't have a check engine light but I will definity look into that to avoid any future issues. I am a little concerned after looking at the Carfax that the first two owners drove 70% of the vehicles current milage and after that the vehicle has only been driven about 20,000 miles (2022-2024 and two owners) do you think I should be concerned?
