can anyone tell me about performance of 2010 Volkswagen Touareg

To date the sure footed and rock solid performance is most welcomed. Almost prefect for my driving stile. Love the way the TDI torque is delivered via the transmission. I could turn minutes of sport mode in to hours; easily. But who has the time. Working for a living sucks.

I got mine 7 days ago, so strait into the mountains I went, lets see what it can do, yey, Land rovers were bogging down in one place so I thought I'll have ago, the t/rag just blasted through leaving specialy prepared landrovers in the bog, answer to your question is, it's the best standard out of the box off road vehicle I have driven, it's a dream.

2010/15k

I just went over the 15,000 mile mark. It was purchased last October, a silver base model with tow package, and is my wife's primary ride. No problems to report :D. The performance, handling, braking, and acceleration is outstanding for such a heavy vehicle. It performed beautifully in this winter's snow, with the only weak spot being the OE 17" Goodyears. I just drove it from the DC area to the mountains of NC with a manually calculated 25.6 mpg. The last tank with mixed highway and DC traffic was 23.7 mpg. I think it's getting broken in now, and I expect better as the weather warms. We'll see what it does when I'm towing my 1500 lb. teardrop camper next month, when I take it to VA Intl. Raceway (VIR) for the Jetta TDI Cup races. Come check it out. I'll see you there.

Other TDIs:

09 Jetta Sedan, White, Manual, 53 k, 43.5 mpg
00 New Beetle, Silver, Manual, 346 k, 48 mpg

2009 TDI with 10,800 miles. Performance has been great. Tows my 18 ft bass boat with great ease. City/Hwy mpg 20. Hwy mpg 27. Adblue refill at 8,500 miles and cornering light bulb replacement at 10,700. Last week while towing the boat (non LED lights) I was getting an alert saying that the left turn signal on the trailer was not working but it fact it was working. Rides great, handles great, love the plastic front fenders. Dropped a 2x4 from the overhead storage in the garage right on the fender and not a dent or a scratch. Bounced right off.

I apparently really don't drive much. I purchased my 2010 in November of last year and don't even have 3K on it yet. I drive it pretty much daily, but my commute is not very far really. :)

My 08 has had no issues whatsoever (11K miles, purchased November 07), except replacing two bulbs at the dealer at $80 a piece. It's been rock-solid and rides really well on the 17 inch tires, especially in the land of giant potholes that I live in.
