Contemplating on selling my 2006 VW Touareg V10 tdi, because of changes in life. I had all intentions to keep this rare car for at least 500k miles
. Got to relocate to Armenia and can't take the car with me. Been great car. Drives like sport car on highways, tows like heavy duty pickup and in offroad goes where modified jeeps venture. Been over Alpine Loop, Mosquito Pass, Imogene Pass and several other offroad trails and passes in Colorado. Drove between Colorado and California at least 2 dozen times, 3 times to East Coast and 3 times to BC and Alberta.
Owned the car since new. Odometer is at 290,000 miles. 80% of miles are driven on highways. Been California car and came with me to Colorado in 2018. Zero rust issues. Few dings around, all happened while parked in Mammoth Lakes ski resorts. All maintenance until 100,000 miles wad done at Glendale Pacific VW, California. Afterwards I had taken it to my mechanic. Oil has been changed at 5 to 7k intervals. Fuel filter and air filters have been changed at every 20k miles.
Turbos, tandem pump and left side pump were replaced at 220,000 miles, intakes were cleaned, too. Transmission was rebuild in August of 2019, at 240,764 miles in Transmission Clinic, Colorado Springs. It was all due to VW lifetime transmission fluid BS. About same time transfer case, front and rear differential oils changed. Gone through 3 drive shafts, each lasted between 80k to 90k miles. Front suspension arms were replaced 3 times, rear - once. Alternator was replaced in summer of 2021, at same time intakes were cleaned. In August 2022 got Melone offroad tune. DPFs were taken out. Have the original VW software on Flashzilla, in case someone wants to put dpfs back. It drives much better, breathes better, like got rid of lung cancer
. Just got to be in a county or state that doesn't require smog check
In October 2022, at 276k miles bnecause of oil leak oil cooler was replaced. In Fall 2023, at 288k miles several electric switches and wirings were replaced, brand new batteries installed, transmission oil and filter change performed, transfer case oil changed. Last 2 repairs were done at Front Range Auto in Colorado Springs. 4 corner air suspension works as suppose to. The car is factory equipped with rear axle locker.
Not in a rush to sell it, and don't need help in selling. Asking $10,000. I am driving it, so odometer reading will be increasing about 100-150 miles a week.
The car will come with extra set of 18 inch rims, 2 old driveshafts ( can be rebuilt), 2 turbos, that are mechanically sound. I have replaced those because 1 turbo (right hand side) had fried electronic controller. These are also rebuildable. Thanks for your interest. Will entertain reasonable offers.
