Hah, fresh start, my new battery is also start dying on me now. :(

But my issue is not the draw this time, my Treg is not charging the battery. Even though you drive the car for 30 minutes, the battery is still dead.
Last week, i drove 50 miles and that time i was able to start the car. So this time, the symphom is more likely an alternator issue.

I may be late to the thread. My 2005 fully loaded Treg has gone through 5 batteries. I opened a customer care ticket with VW (Reference # 811005261) since this problem was present when the vehicle was under warranty. VW replaced the KESSEY module and battery but that did not fix the problem. After weeks of trouble shooting the dealer claims the proximity sensor in the door handle (don't know which one) was the cause of the battery drain. VW would not pay for the repairs so I got rid of my once loved Treg. Corp VW has a long way to go if they think to gain market share in the U.S..

There is a TSB out there for battery drain on the early Touaregs it has to do with the cable that runs from the battery to the alternator. My 2004 V8 had the battery drain problem and it turned out to be the alternator cable.

Check for undercoating under neg cable to chassis,a simple alternator test would be attach analog meter to battery and turn all accessories on high an see if voltage drops,it should remain stable at 13.8 to 14.2 volts,Marty

Follow up to this is once the proximity sensors were disabled in the software the battery drain stopped.

My 2004 Touareg sits in FL unused most of the year.
It has always had a battery drain never lasting more than around 2 weeks without being started up.
No dealer service person could ever figure it out.
I always figured it had something to do with the air suspension as the Touareg appeared to adjust itself over time while sitting in the garage.
Don't know that I have proximity sensors, but I'll have the dealer check it next time it's in.
There is a reason that the early Touaregs were shipped from the factory with a solar battery maintainer!

Make sure the dealer checks that the car goes into the sleep mode. This service may take a few days to evaluate. My car was not going to sleep as the door handle proximity sensors were not allowing it to do so. It took two weeks to find out that my door handle sensor was bad. The dealer can actually watch and graph the battery drain while the car is off.

The proximity sensor in door handle is the one that when the car is locked and you pull on the handle it unlocks provided you have the key near by. That function quit working on my car which was a hint to the problem. Never the less the dealer can check current drain over time on the car.

That feature was in the Premium Plus version, which I don't have.
Just standard door locks on mine.

when i was out with the Treg today 'System Fault Workshop' appeared and there was a key sign on top of the 'system fault workhsop' , my power windows, aircond switches, indicator lights did not work. Switch off and re-start and it was still the same so drove off to the workshop..switched off the engine for 30mins then re start everything was back to normal. Is these a sign of power drain, low batt or faulty altenator cable ? Its a 2005,3.2 V6 model. Thanks in advance for any feedbacks

I'm on my 3rd battery in 3 months. Can someone tell me what look for in the ground cable under the seat?what exactly am I looking for? Please help!
Why do need to get to the ground cable? Pulling the seat out of a Treg is not as easy as you think. Check the cars charging system. 3 batteries in 3 months sounds more like a charging issue.

Well here's the deal. With this 3rd battery I came prepared or so I thought. I bought a charger for it and would charge it up every week. I figure my alternator cable is bad so its not charging all the way but Sunday I charged it to 100% and Monday it was completely dead. I even did the parasytic drain previously to see if it was my Kessy but was only getting like 1 milliamp draw. Now I'm trying to charge the battery and its not taking a charge. I can jump it however and it starts. I just pulled the radio and fuse amp to see if that will do anything. I'm lost. Wife is trying to convince me to trade the Treg in and end this nightmare. Any help is greatly appreciated.
