Hello,

I have this fault when scanning with Vagcom. My brakes feel fine with no performance issues that I can notice. I checked the fuse which is good, and don't see any cracks in the attached hoses. It's leading me to believe I may have a faulty brake booster pump.

Please, does anyone know how to test the pump using VagCom? I could really use step by step instructions.

I've googled it and see a lot of people asking the same question, but nobody has answered it satisfactorily .The Ross Tech Wiki says I should do an "output test", but I can find no instructions on how to actually do that.

Is there any other type of test I can do to determine if my pump is faulty?

Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!

I recently tested my vacuum pump using a power probe. But you should be able to run the car and if your engine is cold you could put your hand on the vacuum pump have someone press down on the brakes and you should be able to feel the pump turn on. Another thing you could do would be to run the car and unplug one of the vacuum hoses, the car will run like junk but you would be able to hear and feel the pump running or not.

Otherwise here is a step to step instruction on testing the brake pressure, but this may not exactly tell you whether the pump is working or not.

My brakes also work fine but I also have a fault that keeps coming back and found a way to test the pump using VCDS. As you can see, mine failed.

Has anyone figured out a way to clear this code? Or to fix it? I am getting the same thing over and over again, have replaced one of the actuators but still get the error code pop up after about 25 miles.

My extended warranty expires soon so I’m taking mine in to the dealer for a few issues including the brake vacuum problem. I will report back next week with what was done to fix it.
