detouraeg,

My problem was fixed. They replaced the coolant temp sensors under warranty. So I paid nothing. I don't recall the parts being too expensive either from the paperwork they gave me.
I completely understand your issues with a bad dealership. My wife is a travel nurse and we have spent the better part of the last 4 years traveling around the States. I have encountered many service departments that are either lazy and don't bother fixing a problem they know is there, incompetent and really I know more about my own vehicle than the supposed "Touareg tech" that we pay around $100 an hr for their so called expertise. Or by far the worst... A dealership that is only out to rip you off by fixing anything they can, even if it's not the problem. My guess is the dealership you are working with right now is the latter. I got lucky when I had my problem and ended up being under warranty and finding a good dealership. They are out there even though they might seem few and far between.

Good luck again.

Detouareg,

I was recently having the same issue with my Touareg, but it appears to now be fixed. I have replaced both of the coolant temp sensors which has solved the problem. I wish you the best of luck with your repair situation.

Hi Guys.. Today The Service Mgr called me and said that they didnt see any problem. But i asked them to replace coolant Temp Sensor which is around $50 which is not a Big Deal after spening 1500+. Will see if the same problem will pop up again or my problem will be solved.

Manager still says that no problem Found. But i insisted them to replace Coolant Temp Sensor. They charged $90 with Labor. Finally i took my vehicle Yday. So far No problem. HOPING not to have any More Issues !!!

Hello, I am new here so I apologize in advance for any lack of ettiquite that I may display. I have been following this thread and had the coolant temp sensor replaced. I have a 04 3.2 V6 (Black) and the shop told me there is only one to replace. Is this correct? I had it replaced but it did not correct the problem and now I have half of my vents blowing hot air and half of them blowing cold. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

NOw I got it too!

Detouareg-I've got very similar symptoms with my 2004 V-8. From the posts I've read on this there appear to be 2 temp sensors. They replaced just one or both on yours? Hope it's still working for you as your problems seem very similar to mine. Ever since I was charged $3,000 for some stripped oil plug I have HIGH ANXIETY any time I have to take this to the shop.
Thanks!
