Greetings comrades!)

Just bought a 2008 3.0 V6 TDI. In the upcoming months I will have to invest some money to make my car perfect. Here comes the question: where, in which country can you order spare parts at most reasonable prices?

Privet e dobro pozhalavat !!!

Welcome

Given the rouble right now I don’t think you will find many parts with an attractive price. Question that comes to mind though is are you local or expat. If expat then this may not affect you as you could be paid in your local home currency via an offshore account.

My observations of parts is they are most expensive in Australia I guess because of the distance and exchange rate. I try to mainly source parts globally. I am sure there are other members here who would agree that global sourcing works well for them also. I usually search EBay Britain, Germany, US and Canada and try to shop around as some prices do vary from country to country. The big difference is usually postage for me. I think from my observations Britain and Germany have the most reasonable postage. The US for what-ever reason the postage seems quit high and if I do buy from the US I use a local address which I then get forward the parts to me. There are also several after-market companies In the US because of the size of their market and some parts could be more reasonable there. Even after that there are still courier charges but end up more reasonable than EBay postage prices. Germany has a mountain of parts available and is like a candy shop. Some post direct others do not so you might need a local address. Over all the internet is your friend in sourcing I think.

As Scarlettsdad mentioned there are other members here who are local for you and will have more information both locally and if they have any tips to obtain parts abroad they should chime in here. I’ve noticed members here in RU, UA and GE

Hi, Moskovite! Weclome to Club Touareg.
My guess you speak or understand Russian, I would suggest you to register at touareg-club.net, tons of useful info there. You will get answers to your questions (perhaps country specific).
It would be entartaining to learn some facts about your Touareg (some pictures, miles on odo, trim package, issues if any, and other peculiarities).

Hi Goldvin, Welcome to the Forum. After having a V6 TDI for the past 4 years I have only found two real weaknesses that you should be aware of. The first is the Rear Prop Shaft (Tail shaft) centre bearing which is common to most. The other which is V6 TDI specific is the Swirl Flap control links on the inlet manifold. The inlets have dual paths controlled by a stepper motor and they have a tendency to get clogged up with soot and sludge. This results in the link between the motor and the flat breaking..

Checking page 10 in the attached pdf file. The links are available for very little cost on Ebay and the manifold are not difficult to strip down and rebuild.

Other than that a good robust vehicle.

Stuart...
