Did not see this looking through the forum:

When I do a hard accelerate, up a hill, or around the corner (as if you can do a hard accelerate in a V6), my Check Lights goes on and the left Xenon goes off. Dearler checked wiring and told me I was hallucinating. it is getting worse. Light goes off for 4 seconds, then comes back on and fault clears in 10 seconds.

Anyone else seen this?

Make sure the headlight cartridge is seated and locked properly.

Okay, i will try that. I imagine the maintenance manual has something on how to do that.

I am having a "check light" warning to find that one parking light (194 bulb) is out. Side varies. I tap on the headlight and it comes on and fault clears. Loose connection but I'm taking it into VW since it was a problem a long time ago.

I made an appt with the VW dealer. They said, since I am getting fault warnings intermittently with fuel cap, lights, airbag, etc, it may be the Battery Cable Issue. Sigh.....

If you don't mind me asking, what dealer are you going to? If you have trouble you might try switching. I've been going to Chaplins on the east side with good results so far, but I've also heard good things about the VW deealership in Kent, although I've never been there.

Chaplin's is where i go. Good people. However, they are Always busy so it is like a 10 day wait for an Appt. I mean it is not Audi service, but better than the horror stories i hear from my Nissan owning friends.

Well, I got a barrage of faults this AM. Gas cap, light, airbag. I feel like I am on Apollo 13. 7 days till the service appt. I just hope it does not die while driving....

Um, you really shouldn't be driving around with an airbag warning light. I'd call the dealership and take it in right away or just stop driving the thing.

Really... VW Service advisor said bag would not deploy, just don't get in an accident. (he actually said that).

Ok, here is an update. The T-Teg has been in the service shop for 3 days.

1) Replaceing CD Changer (dead)
2) Replacing Sterring Column Harness (on order)
3) dismantling headlight assemblies and lubing (why?)
4) running diagnostics when done
5) Oh yeah, 20K service ($369, wow)

Will let ya all know the final analysis and whether it is all fixed.

headlight

Any new resolutions of headlight issue. My left goes out intermintedly as others described. I am afraid dealer is going to say the same thing they said regarding rear gate open losing memory. if i came in with the lock working they say there is nothing they can do. if I go in not working will they say they re-set and now working?
Does setting of bulb seem to be the headlight issue or possibly a computer thing? Are there any individual side headlight connection other than right at mount? Does computer register light out individually and could that be the source of one headlight out problem?
I feel like I have to have the answers before going in for service.
They tried to start arguing about an air leak around center soeaker. I brought in tech notice from forum. Excellent response from dealer. lthough, I did have to go back a second time (at $65 round trip ferry ride each time-the joys of island living). They refused to order part without seeing car first. I suppose next time I will trust forum and just pay for the part in advance and get credit.

Froven,

I had this same issue and got it resolved. I had to take the car back to the dealer a couple of times before they figured it out. Has nothing to do with faulty or loose wiring (which is where they were looking initially), but rather with faulty Xenon bulbs.

There is technical solution #201192812 which identifies VIN ranges for which the Xenon bulbs initially put in the car were unreliable. Dealer followed details of the tech solution, and replaced my bulbs under warranty. Have not had the "check lights" error since, nor have my lights gone out again.

I've attached a copy of the invoice from my dealer for you to reference if needed. It details the tech solution, the part number, etc.

They ended up replacing steering column harness for the Airbag fault and the Left front xenon to get rid of the Check Lights problem. So far so good
