Hi,

Finally picking up my Touareg tomorrow (V6, Package #3, with Hitch) and I can't wait. I have been checking out this forum for a few days and I am very impressed with all the knowledge in here. You folks are great. My question is - What should I do first? Is there some basic steps/mods that I can't live without? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

first steps

First thing you need to do is drive your T-Reg around your block about 10 times, making sure everyone knows you have arrived \:D/

Dont worry about Mods on the first day!!! Once you get used to the car, you'll realize whats annoying and whats not. Then you can figure out what Mods you want to do.

Search for Mods/Additions in the forum, youll see a list of things people have done, figure out what you would like and proceed from there.

Welcome to the Family!

SSP.

Welcome! My first mods were Spockcat's Dead Pedal and the Stainless Steel Brake, Gas and Emergency Brake Pedal. Check our Sponsor's websites for purchase info!

Welcome! Because it was (still is??) the rainy season here So Cal. - Monster Mats were the first for me.

I guess in the long run - it depends on your taste and your budget !!

Enjoy your new Treg.!! \:D/

I think the ABSOLUTE FIRST MOD you need to do... and you'll discover this quickly.... is find someone with a VAGcom and get the damn seat belt chime turned off. It will drive you nuts!!! :chainsaw:

1) A new pair of dark sunglasses

2) Monster Mats, especially if you have a beige interior.

3) Consider the GorillaGear trunk liner. It comes with four movable plastic corners that secure your cargo to the trunk liner. Keeps all hell from breaking loose back there when you power through some turns.

4) A properly funded credit card for the gas pump.

As you can see, everyone here has a different take on what to do first to your Touareg. My first mod was the dash storage bin. I personally hate driving with my wallet in my pocket, so I installed the box as a place to keep it (funny thing is the mod emptied my wallet and I don't mind it in my pocket as much). I think Tahoe's post is great and I agree with SSP, drive it! Welcome to an excellent driving experience.

I think the 3M clear bra is the ticket along w/ the monster mats.... after 8K miles the seat belt ding and the accept button sent me to find someone w/ the VAG-COM software...... window tint tomorrow going 20% on all six back windows and 50% on the front..... if you have an iPod you'll need to score some cables the FM transmitters SUCK! I've tried three diff ones and NONE of them work worth a crap.... should be installing the hardwire this weekend.

Welcome!!

SSp is right - drive it and figure it out. The only thing I've done is the Monster Mats although I have to agree with everyone on the seat belt chime. When I get a free moment to hook up with someone to VAG it, it's a goner. As for the suggestion of the properly funded credit card - heck -just buy a gas station. Or stock in every oil company. LOL!

Enjoy!!
Drive on,
PV

Ya gotta have the Monsters, there great! also, the Gorilla Gear mat is the ticket - keeps things still in the back. Llumar tint is a nice touch as well as the flashlight. But above all, no matter what you do, :joy: enjoy the ride!

trade it on a V8!!!!!!!!
Not a very nice comment for a guy excited about his new car. Not everyone needs the extra power, expense and weight of the V-8 or V-10.
