Xenon Package-H7 Headlight Upgrade

Hey everyone,

Thanks the the brilliant efforts of "bravocharlie" on VWVortex.... I ordered a set of Hoen H7 Xenonmatch Titanium bulbs to replace the OEM H7's (flash to pass lights for those with xenon headlights). I swapped the bulbs out today -- which couldn't have been any easier ;-) .

The Hoen bulbs are an AWESOME match for anyone looking to have their H7's match up with the color of the xenons.

Here's a few pictures. This is with just the xenons burning!

nice work tregco and also looked at what bravo did in vw vortex and i must say they look nice. makes those halogen look like xeon.

now tell me how easy is it to do tht mod

Once you take the headlight cartridge out, you take the rubber cover off the top of the light and it opens right above the area where the bulb is. You disconnect the plug on the back of the bulb, unhook the clip holding the bulb in place and it slides out.

To install, slide the new bulb in (don't touch the glass on the bulb), hook the clip on, plug it back in.... whammo, you're done.

Looks great! How much were the bulbs? and where did you get them?

Try http://www.hoen-usa.com They'll have all their pricing on their website. I did this mod when I first got my touareg almost a year ago. Absolutely love it (especially with the six-light salute!!).

Agreed! The Hoen's are easy to swap in and look great. The only thing you need to be careful of is the headlight locking assembly. The trick I learned is to jiggle the front of the headlight as you push to lock it in, and apply firm (but not too much) pressure to the locking tool.

Anyone tried swapping the fogs yet? I hear it's a little trickier.

Just ordered the Xenonmatch fogs. Will let you know after I install them The FAQ's on the Vortex site takes you through it step by step.

I also have the Hoen xenonmatch foglights.... but I haven't done those yet. I've heard it's a bit tougher, but there are instructions on how to do it on www.vwvortex.com.

The H7's were $49 and the H-11's for my fogs were $49.
