I just purchased an alpine head unit and the ipod interface adapter to connect my ipod and control it through the head unit. I received a wiring harness and a dash conversion kit, however, I am inexperienced with this and was wondering if any one could point me in the direction of another thread dedicated to this. I tried a search and pulled up things that were irrelevant. If there is not a thread or a tutorial does anyone have and suggestions or tips from experience? First thing I really need to figure out is how to remove my current cdplayer/stereo. I need any help I can get. Thanks in advance.

I was given four y shaped tools made out of thin sheet metal, i trust these are what you are referring to. Any more information in regards to installation? Thanks
i bought all my stuff from crutchfield. came with wire harness, radio antenna head unit mount etc. i also had sirius installed so i took it all to tweeter. ive found 2 different head unit mounts the crutchfield version has a smaller ex pocket. i cant wait to find some speakers! cause the stock radios will never be good enough

I did the exact same thing except, being a college student im trying to cut some corners and avoid paying even more for the labor. If you dont mind me asking I'd like to know how much they charged you to install the head unit, I have all of the same pieces that you received. This is still my last alternative, I would really like to save the money and do this myself, all just seems a little daunting right now without any formal instructions.

wires all need to be crimped, however, I have the crimping tool and sleeves necessary.
