Here's a lesson on installations. I had a panasonic Sirius radio installed by a good dealer because I didn't want to mess it up. Well they shure did. They used the navigation antenna instead of the FM lead. They look the same. It took the VW dealer almost three hours to figure it out, to the tune of $260. The radio shop paid the bill thank goodness.

You need a seperate annt. the aux imput is the place to run the imput from the reciever. The sound is great, close to CD quaility. The wiring is available from members on this forum.

My Serius sounds great, almost CD quality. Using the cable to the Aux. is the only way to go. I've seen the unit that fits in the ashtray. Very similar to the XM Commander.

FM w/ Sirius works great for me

I'm not sure why people are having so many problems with the FM Modulator with Sirius. I just installed a Sirius in my new T-Reg and it sounds crisp and clear. It's the same unit I had in my last car and it sounded fine there, too. You know you have to pick an FM station that does not have interference from a local FM station, right? Anyway, just my 2 cents.

I'm running an S50 right now hooked up via FM modulation....sucks!

I've got the sprok hardwire AO cables to mini-jack on order....my installer is going to use those. Hopefully Sprok ships fast!
He ships very quick which he has it in stock. I was amazed how fast I received my Paddle Shifters and Keyless Start. Great Guy.

Jad -- let me know how the S50 hook-up sounds -- I want to do something similar with My S50 --- or may go and get just a stand along unit for the car (and keep it hidden).

I don't know how to manually find a radio station on my 2004 Treg...the radio/Nav only has the stations available that have signals. any ideas?

Spockcat, What audio adapter would I need for a Sirius sportster unit.

Pull the cover off the right side of truck area. It's silver. Held in with 2 screws. Easy to replace mine went bad too.

Satellite Module Connection

Is the module replacement "plug and play" or does a dealer need to set it up. I know Sirius will need to link my account to a new unit, but can I just plug in a new module and get a radio ID without going through a dealer?

The module just plugs in the right back side, as long as you have the prewiring there. i.e. your radio supports sirius. If so you just plug it in, then provide SIRIUS XM with the radio ID. You will need a dealer or someone with VAG com cable to change the canbus to tell ur car you have sirius now (Digital Radio) is what it's called in the VCDS software. very easy and straight forward though.

Already have Sirius. Sometimes loses link (seems like after it gets warm?). Replaced module with a used one, but would not show ID or play the Preview Station. (maybe a bad module). I guess my question is, If I install a new module, will I need someone to change the canbus? or should it automatically find the radio ID so I can have Sirius update my subscription? Current one works most of the time.
Thanks

I misunderstood. If u already have it it's an easy swap. I had to buy one for my Touareg it wouldn't link. Replaced with one from ebay for like $40 and was plug and play. Radio ID showed up fine. Make sure you buy similar part # as what u had.

Thanks, that's what I thought. The one I bought on Ebay was the same part # and was listed as "In working Condition"....Obviously it was not. I did get Ebay to refund my $. Seller would not respond. I will try to find another. We live in the Mountains and only get a couple good radio stations and would really miss Sirius if our module craps out for good.

Again, Thanks for all your help. Really like our Touareg, 82,000 miles now and like new.
