Rial is a great brand and long time OE supplier to most German automakers, Borbet is also an OE supplier in Germany. OZ are good, but I can't stand the look of any of their SUV applications...BBS is legendary but $$$

How bout a pic where you can make out the Zehn wheel? Again, not doubting you...just hard to make out anything other than a crack.

The TDI is about 200lbs more than the V6 gas weight below...
--gross vehicle weight (lbs): 6,173
--published curb weight (lbs): 4,711

Unfortunately, i cannot locate the published load rating on the Zehns via Victor's website. I also didn't locate a user manual in my Zehn boxes which evidently has this info.

Do you have the documentation on the Zehn supporting the load weight?

Thanks for sharing.
These are the shots I have one includes the rim production code. Also a shot with the wheels on my car.

Bails - what wheel did you get? AFAIK Only the 20x10 and 22 x 10 are made for the Cayenne/Touareg...the 20x8.5 and 20x11 and other sizes are made for the 911/Cayman etc - different application despite the fact they will fit the Treg.

I've trolled a number of other sites including Cayenne specific ones and haven't heard of wheel cracking on Victor wheels.

I bought mine from Discount Tire - they won't sell it to you if its not made for the vehicle...wheel rating they gave me was 2350# each - which exceeds the GAWR of front and rear axles.
20 X 10 I would also have the e-mails at my office where the importer tried to tell me I had abused the wheels because I went off road and they are not designed for this. My point being that they advertised these wheels being suitable for a 4WD ie: Porsche and Touareg when in fact they are only suitable for road use. No warnings about off road use my point is I could have killed my family and the importer did not warn about no off road use ! Not fit for purpose is my take and would not feel good recommending them on this board if in doing so a member was injured or some one was killed.

I work at a reputable wheel and tire shop and we see cracked wheels a lot. It is almost 100% of the time related to road wear (pot holes, curbs etc). I see it in all different brands across the board. It may not necessarily be a specific weight or load rating problem as these VZ wheels are specifically designed for the cayenne/touareg/Q7 platforms. It's unfortunate this happened to you though, and it's also unfortunate the manufacturer did not do more to help you

I'm not bitter about what happened ! I am upset that some one could be injured or killed because the company that makes the Victor Zehn is more interested in profits than the truth, which is, these wheels are not good for mild off road use. If these wheels see a little bit of off road they may crack and cause a serious injury ! Now if in doubt I suggest that you get it in writing that the wheels are fit for off road use and then if they fail you would have some pretty good recourse especially in the litigious US. I suspect that the manufacturer will not endorse them for off road use.

I intend to keep my stock 18" wheels for the off-roading and winter shenanigans. The 20" will be purely for highway use that can include towing. That is my only purpose for this new set I am looking at.

Thank you for all the pics and info Bails.

I was looking at different wheels options myself, though 18" was my target. I've come across this post: 20" Alloys Touareg, Cayenne, Q7
See if that's a good fit.
I'm looking to get some Victor Zehn 18" x8 for my 2008 V10 Touareg, does anybody have any experience with this combo? I'm worried about the stock brakes being larger than standard Touareg fitting the 18" wheels without scuffing

BEWARE OF WHEEL ADAPTERS AND SPACERS!
I've been a dealer trained Technician for Porsche, Audi, BMW and Rover for almost 40 years, retired now but still turning my own wrenches.
I'm posting this to share a surprising experience I just had with a set of wheel adapters. I had a spare set of 19" wheels with new Pirelli tires from my 2006 Range Rover Sport that I decided to put on my 2012 Treg TDI for the winter. They were beautiful wheels with new 235/65/19 Pirelli Scorpion Verde tires. Not long after installing them, maybe 2-3 weeks, I began to notice a sound that was similar to a wheel bearing going bad. The noise was impossible to pinpoint as it was gone when listening on a lift, and I was about to change the front wheel bearings when I came across a deal on a set of wheels and tires from a Porsche Cayenne. I wanted to go back to 18" wheels to get more tire options and these had a nice set of the exact same Pirelli tires in a 255/55/18. I changed the wheels and tires yesterday and to my amazement the noise was gone! Apparently the wheel adapters/spacers were causing the bearing noise by moving the load out 1.5" and putting additional stress on the bearing. The best part is the wheels and tires only cost me $250, about the cost of 1 new tire in the size I wanted! I hope this post prevents anyone else from making the same mistake.
