It comes with the S150 from Allen at carnaviplayer.com I should have mentioned you should specify which camera you want dependant on wether you have a stock camera or not. I didn't want to have my stock BU cam unplugged there not doing anything and have a camera beside it in place of my plate light. BUT if you dont have a factory BU cam then no big deal, either one is fine AFAIK. As long as the new cam/handle unit is the same size and bolts up to the stock location of a camera-less handle.

Thanks ly vr6.

Great service from Allen as always, so instead of just ordering that camera, I also bought another unit for another car also from him.

I found that the standard music player and eq don't produce the same sound as the stock head unit, so I gave Poweramp a go. I think it's quite close with a few adjustments to the inbuilt eq.

A bonus is you can swipe from right to left to goto the next track or bottom to top to go next folder.

Only issue I have is that because i'm running a portable hdd, the s150 boots faster than it takes longer for the hdd to boot so it doesn't auto resume and I have to press play once its booted. I don't think this would happen on a usb stick.

I have the S100 unit installed on my Touareg. One question, it uses the iGo navigation software. I cannot get the nav voice to cut out the music when it gives step by step directions. You can barely hear the voice. Is there a setting to fix this?

I'm not sure about the S100 as I have the S150, but if it is running something similar to the android iGo then have you tried to go to settings, then sound and adjusting there?

p.s With standard settings it doesn't cut the music on the S150 either.

The Navi voice and SD/USB music sound come from the same audio channel.
But they came from different two audio channel on old S60 head unit. It worked like this on S60 unit: When the navi voice output, the music would disappear and you could only hear navi voice. 10 seconds after the navi voice, the music sound would come back.
On S100/S150 unit, you will be able to hear both music and navi sound at the same time. Another way you can adjust the volume:
1. You can adjust the music/radio volume if there is no navi audio(on the right):

2. Once the navi voice come out, there will be a volume number on the middle of the screen:

3. You can adjust the navi volume separately.

Hi Allen,

I sent you a message, I am interested in purchasing this unit to replace my CD Navi off my 04 Touareg.

Question for the group, any reviews, comments or concerns from moving from a 8 speaker system to a 4 speaker system?

How's the quality of sound?

TIA!

You should have eleven speakers, not eight. There are two in each rear door, three in each front door and a sub In the center dash. The cable that is used will power the two mids in the rear and the two tweeters in the front. I too would like to replace my stock unit, but not sure the sound will be any good. I guess you need to weigh the benefits of the new features vs the loss of a decent audio. Let me know if you replace yours, as I would like to also.

After speaking to Allen he was very helpful and I decided to order the unit. I'll keep you and the group posted on how it sounds after the install. :D

I have one installed in my treg.

The sound quality is what I would call "ok". It's not as good as it was, I had the factory digital amp fyi.

This is due to the fact that now we have only 4 speakers vs the 9 or more speakers they came with.

Allen and I have been talking about a passive crossover that could be installed back in the amps original location. This would give us all our speakers (minus the center channel) back and our sound back.

Another option would be to install some RCA's from the new unit back to the amp them removing the RCA ends and bare the wires and hook them up at the OE amps input locations.

This quite honestly sounds to me to be the best option.
I've not had a chance to try this yet but hope to this next week. I will report back after I try this also.

Side note. Allen has been completely amazing to work with. He truly wants to make sure I'm taken care of. I highly recommend him if your in the market.

How difficult was the installation. Mainly, how hard was running the bypass cable to the amp.

I placed my gps ant in the center of the dash right up at the windshield and the cable tucks nicely down the gap behind the dash, i routed it over to the passenger A-pillar where i had to take the A-pillar trim off to tuck it underneath and then with the fusebox cover off you can tuck it in above the fusebox and then down below the glovebox. You'll have to fish it up behind the stereo with a piece of string or wire (stereo out obviously). I removed the vents above the stereo and drilled a small hole in the cubby underneath the rubber mat just big enough for the connector end of the mic to fit through and placed the mic in there... Good luck, im sure someone else may chime in about mic location, roof mounted may provide better sound quality.

Hi Group,

So I received my deck within 2 days after Allen shipped it.(China to Canada)
As mentioned in other posts, Allen is amazing to work with and answered all my emails promptly.

My reviews on the deck:

Pros:
-Looks like a stock deck (color matches perfectly)
-Up to date GPS maps (my GPS actually shows me the street names and I'm no longer driving off-road..lol)
-Bluetooth Speakerphone (hands free)
-Back up camera
-Wi-Fi (you can surf the net)
-DVD Player
-USB video and music compatible
-IPhone 5 compatible (you have to purchase the 30 pin to lightning converter, you must purchase an original converter from apple or it will only play music and not charge)

Cons:
-Although the sound is ok, you will notice a difference from 11 speakers to 4. You actually notice it even more sitting in the backseats.
-My GPS loses its signal periodically
-FM & AM is weak, even with the FM booster.

Overall I am happy with the new deck. The pro's definitely out weight the con's. The install took me about 5 hours. I took my time to hide all the wires, added the wireless back up camera, and had to bypass the amp.

Hopefully there will be a fix for the con's down the road.

Thanks Allen
