Has any body actually been able to order their TDI in the USA, or do you simply place a request and you get what VW sends you as a close match. I keep getting different answers. Also any body know whats coming for 05 besides DVD based Nav.

Why do people think a DVD nav is coming in '05. There is no confirmation on anything new for '05. The Cayenne is getting DVD but since it uses an entirely different nav system from a different manufacturer it is not a indicator of what the Touareg will get.
As for your first question, I am pretty sure they match orders to vehicles. Only in Europe can you order a vehicle exactly the way you want it. But the wait for an ordered V10 is lots and lots of months. 6 to 10 has been reported.

I learned of the change to DVD from VW. IN our area their is an 800 number to call to ask for help and questions. My local dealer also told me of the change. Not sure what else to tell ya. Only the shadow knows!
Hi: I ordered a TDI last Feb., and spec'd it just the way I wanted. The dealer at the time said he thought he would just be able to try to match my specs. up with whatever he was allocated. However, VW did actually build it to my specs; color, etc., but added 19' wheels which I did not particularly want. It will be here next week.
